Tigers Looking for Another Strong Start

The Columbia Tigers had an impressive 2016 season, starting out strong with two wins. After suffering a three game losing streak, the Tigers showed their resilience by defeating Escambia, beginning their winning streak. Columbia High School is in the 7A District two zone, and went 3-1 in their district in 2016. The Tigers came out victorious in their rivalry game versus the Suwannee Bulldogs, sweeping the competition 31-7 at home. This victory put the Tigers in the 2016 Florida High School Playoffs, where they beat Lincoln High School in the Regional Quarterfinals, qualifying Columbia for the Regional Semifinals, where the Tigers suffered a disappointing loss to Lee High School.

Varsity Coach Brian Allen will be returning for the 2017 Fall season, where the team will be facing 7A teams from past seasons such as Lee and Fletcher High School. The team has an opportunity to push past last year’s loss in the Regional Semifinals and take their resilience a step towards the 7A championship.
