Top 10 Florida Girls High School Soccer Recruits

When it comes to high school sports, Florida regularly produces top-ranked teams and athletes nationally, and soccer is no exception. Along with sports like football, baseball, and basketball, Florida is full of top soccer talent, and girls soccer is extremely competitive throughout the state. Here is a list of the top 10 girls high school soccer recruits in Florida from the class of 2023.

1. Grace Ivey, Bartram Trail

Grace Ivey tops our list of the top girls soccer recruits in Florida. Ivey won the 2021-22 Gatorade Florida Girls Soccer Player of the Year and so far has picked up where she left off last season. Ivey has had a prolific career at Bartram Trail and is committed to play collegiately at Texas A&M. She was a crucial piece in helping the Bears capture their first-ever FHSAA 7A state titles in back-to-back wins in 2020 and 2021.

2. Zoe Parkhurst, IMG Academy

Parkhurst has been a standout for the IMG squad for the last few years. She previously played for De Anza Force in California before making the decision to move to IMG Academy. She is committed to play in college for the Ole Miss Rebels.

3. Amelia Malkin, IMG Academy

Like many other IMG athletes, Malkin began her high school playing career at another school, Riverview High. She notched 20 goals in her days at Riverview before making the transition to IMG. Malkin is a Florida Gators commit.

4. Annalise Cannada, Bolles

The Kentucky commit is having another strong season for the Bolles Bulldogs with 3 goals scored so far on the year in 2022.

5. Nyela Calnek, American Heritage Delray

Calnek has racked up 23 goals in her high school career at American Heritage Delray. She’s helped lead the Mustangs to deep playoff runs the last two seasons. Calnek is committed to play for Vanderbilt when her high school career comes to a close.

6. Savannah Sabo, IMG Academy

Sabo is of Croatian descent and was part of the  U19 Croatian National team recently. The standout goalkeeper is committed to play at the next level for the Virginia Tech Hokies.

7. Lena Bailey, Tampa Catholic

The multisport athlete has helped lead the Tampa Catholic girls soccer squad to a hot start this year. Bailey has notched 5 goals already and is committed to play for the University of Florida.

8. Courtney Jones, Apopka

The second of two Vanderbilt commits on this list, Jones was a standout for the Apopka Blue Darters before focusing more on playing club soccer until she joins the Commodores at the collegiate level.

9. Leah Finkelman, North Broward Prep

Putting together one of the more prolific Florida high school girls soccer careers in recent years, Finkelman is the holder of several school records on the soccer field for NBP. Some of these include most goals in a season (34) and most goals in a game (6). As one of the top girls soccer recruits in Florida, she’ll seek continued success at the next level, having committed to the University of Pennsylvania.

10. Nyema Freeman, American Heritage

After suffering from a knee injury last year, Freeman is back on the pitch and having a great season so far for the Patriots. She is committed to play for the Miami Hurricanes next year.
