We have reached a regional final round full of games with massive implications. Before we move on, however, let’s take a look back at the top performances from the Florida high school regional semifinals last weekend.
Austin Simmons – Pahokee
Simmons completed 17-of-24 passes for 412 yards and 4 touchdowns in Pahokee’s 50-28 win over Chiefland.
Luke Yoder – East Lake
Yoder rushed for 233 yards and 3 touchdowns on 13 attempts in East Lake’s 38-14 win over Plant in the Florida high school regional semifinals.
John Celestin – Lake Minneola
Celestin rushed for 253 yards and 2 touchdowns on 30 attempts in Lake Minneola’s 48-14 win over Winter Haven.
Cedrick Bailey – Chaminade-Madonna
Bailey completed 13-of-16 passes for 267 yards with 4 touchdowns in Chaminade-Madonna’s 48-0 win over Avant Garde Academy. The junior quarterback also rushed for 17 yards on 2 attempts and caught a pass for 36 yards.
Mark Wilder – Doral Academy
Wilder rushed for 211 yards and 2 touchdowns on 37 attempts in the Firebirds 32-21 win over Western.
Kenari Wilcher – Moore Haven
Wilcher had was all over the field in his team’s Florida high school regional semifinals win. He had 5 receptions for 185 yards and 2 touchdowns, as well as 7 tackles on defense, as Moore Haven topped Evangelical Christian 45-13.
Caleb Coburn – East Lake
Coburn completed 11-of-14 passes for 111 yards with a touchdown in East Lake’s 38-14 win over Plant. Coburn also rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown on 22 attempts, and he compiled tackles and 2 TFL on defense.
Kendrick Raphael – Naples
Raphael rushed for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns on 14 attempts in the Golden Eagles’ 35-3 win over Port Charlotte.
Traylon Ray – North Florida Christian
Ray had 6 receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 29 yards and a score on 3 attempts in North Florida Christian’s 42-14 win over Maclay. Ray also added 4 tackles and an interception on defense.
Jean Tanelus – Naples
Tanelus compiled 12 tackles, 8 of which were solo, along with a TFL and a sack in Naples’ 35-3 win over Port Charlotte.
Drew Spinogatti – Bishop Moore
Spinogatti compiled 16 tackles, including 8 solo, as well as a TFL and a blocked punt, in Bishop Moore’s 27-10 loss to Bolles.
