The Valdosta Wildcats handled business in their opening game of the 2015 GHSA Class AAAAAA Playoffs, traveling to Acworth and disposing of the North Cobb Warriors by a score of 21-16. Their reward for their first-game efforts is another road trip; this time to Loganville to face off against the undefeated Region 8-AAAAAA Champions, the Grayson Rams.
This is only the second meeting of the two teams; their last matchup took place in the 2010 playoffs. Taking the trip to Titletown, the Rams took the last contest by a score of 22-0 at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium. This will be the Wildcats’ first time seeing action beyond the first round since 2010; ironically, it can also serve as a bit of revenge should they come out on top.
The Rams come into the matchup after 38-10 win in their playoff opener against Wheeler (Marietta, Ga.). The winner of Friday’s game will move on to the next round to face either the Westlake Lions (Atlanta, Ga.) or Peachtree Ridge Lions (Suwanee, Ga.) on November 27.
