Ahead of the 2023-24 Alabama high school basketball season, here is our ranking of the state’s top 10 players. (Recruiting rankings according to 247Sports Composite.)
Simon Walker (Huntsville)
We begin the list in Class 7A with Walker, who is rated as a three-star prospect in the 2025 class. Walker helped lead the Panthers to a 7A quarterfinal appearance as a sophomore last season by averaging 11.3 PPG, 2.5 RPG, and 1.7 APG.
Salim London (Hoover)
The first of two Hoover players to make this list is London, who helped lead the Buccaneers to a 31-4 record and the 7A state title as a sophomore a year ago.
Caleb Harrison (Huntsville)
The second name from Huntsville on our list of the top players in 2023-24 Alabama high school basketball is Harrison, who is entering his senior season with the Panthers. He averaged 12.5 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 1.9 APG, and 1.6 BPG a year ago.
Cam Dooley (Valley)
One of the top players for one of the state’s top teams last season, Dooley comes in at No. 7 entering his senior season at defending Class 5A state champion Valley. Dooley, a Missouri commit for football, helped lead the Rams to an undefeated season in 2022-23 by averaging 18.2 PPG, 8.9 RPG, 2.6 APG, and 1.8 SPG.
JaMicah Adair (JAG)
Adair will suit up for JAG, formerly known as Jeff Davis. As a junior last season, the guard averaged 35 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 5.1 APG.
Adrian Wooley (Paul W. Bryant)
We begin the Top-5 with Wooley, who is entering his senior season at Class 6A’s Paul W. Bryant. Wooley, a guard, helped lead the Stampede to a 19-13 record as a junior.
Jacoby Hill (Central-Phenix City)
Hill enters his junior season at Class 7A’s Central-Phenix City, where he helped lead the Red Devils to a 7A state runner-up finish as a sophomore guard last season.
DeWayne Brown (Hoover)
Brown, a junior at Class 7A’s Hoover, is one of the state’s top interior players. The center helped lead the Buccaneers to the 7A state title a year ago as a sophomore.
Ty Davis (Mountain Brook)
The highest-ranked senior on this list is Davis, who is also the final guard to make the Top-10. The three-star Creighton commit led Mountain Brook to the 6A state title game as a junior last season.
Caleb Holt (Buckhorn)
Holding the No. 1 ranking among Alabama high school basketball players entering the 2023-24 season is Holt, a sophomore at Class 6A’s Buckhorn. Holt, a five-star forward, as well as one of the nation’s top players in the 2026 class, helped lead the Bucks to the Class 6A state title a year ago by averaging 16.3 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 3.6 APG.
