After strong starts to the 2021 season for the Pinson Valley and Gardendale football teams, two of the top 6A teams in the state meet for an important early season matchup.
Pinson Valley, despite a 1-1 record, are considered one of the top overall teams in Alabama, and are coming off a 49-0 Week 2 victory over Shades Valley. Despite losing notable players from last season’s 6A title winning team, Pinson Valley is still deep with talent headlined by quarterback Zach Pyron.
Gardendale will welcome the Indians to town after back-to-back victories over Sparkman and Bessemer City to begin the 2021 campaign. The Rockets are led on defense by four-star junior Kelby Collins, one of the top defensive linemen in the state.
