Pasco County Sports Events Limited to Coaches and Players

Pasco County sports events won’t be as loud this season. Starting on Nov. 23, Pasco County will be limiting all athletic activities to students and coaches only.

Coronavirus cases have spiked recently in all of Florida, but Central Florida has been hit especially hard. Pasco County cases alone have risen 9%.

The Pasco County Board of Education has stepped in and suspended all extra-curricular events. This includes athletics, fine arts, and any outdoor or indoor event that proposes or promotes large groups to gather at this time. The goal is to reopen these events to the public once the local positivity rate drops for a seven-day period.
