Navarre High School Cross Country Runner Brody Bruce Named ITG Next’s November 2024 Florida Male Athlete of the Month
Navarre High School cross country runner Brody Bruce has been voted the ITG Next Florida Male Athlete of the Month for November 2024, receiving 54% of the possible votes over three additional finalists.
Based off his performance during October 2024, Bruce received the honor over Zarephath Academy football’s Jordan Durham, Belen Jesuit cross country’s Marcelo Mantecon, and Ocoee football’s Michael McClenton.
As for Bruce’s month, the Navarre cross country product raced in a few different meets in October, finishing with three first place results in all where his time improved in each.
The first of those three came October 5 in Pensacola, which is where Bruce and Navarre participated in the Wildcat Invitational. There, Bruce finished first in the 5,000M with a time of 17:08.30, which was over 30 seconds faster than second place.
Bruce’s next action would come at home in Navarre only days later for the Navarre Mini Meet on October 8. This became a dominant performance for Bruce as well in the 5,000M, recording a time of 16:49.00 that was nearly two minutes faster than second place.
Lastly, Bruce participated in one final event during October, which came in the Aggie Invitational on the 15th in Pensacola. There, Bruce won the Division 1 5,000M race with a time of 16:14.05, his fastest of the month by far.
