2025 Season Stats

  • Overall Record: 5-5
  • Points Scored: 292
  • Points Allowed: 242

Key Roster Losses

According to new head coach Kaream Hess, one of the Mitchell County Eagles’ biggest losses to graduation is dual-threat quarterback Parnell Yates. He threw for 1,070 yards last year along with 11 touchdowns and rushed for 850 yards with 14 touchdowns. Yates also caught a touchdown pass last season, and during his career with the Eagles he accounted for 2,153 total all-purpose yards. He signed with Georgia Tech.

Safety and wide receiver Jonathan Isom will be missed, and he, too, will play college football after signing with West Georgia.

Running back Marcus Vicks will also be missed, but his football career will continue after signing with Clark Atlanta.

Wide receiver and defensive back Darrius Robinson will be a big loss for Mitchell County, but Robinson will attend Brewton-Parker College on a track scholarship.

Key Players Returning

Hess said that in addition to returning center Kaden Murray and linebacker Quintavius McCraw, he looks forward to having Khalil Murray back at running back.

“He wasn’t a starter last year, but I believe he will be a top running back in the state this season as an upcoming junior,” Hess said.

Another upcoming junior whom Hess is looking forward to having as part of the offense this season is wide receiver Jerran Grissom.

“I think he’ll have a big year for us also,” Hess said.

Hess will welcome back two players who did not play football last year: quarterback Jadarian Hudson and wide receiver Antwan Edmonds.

“They played basketball last year, but we’re looking forward to having them play football again this year,” Hess said.

What to Expect From the Mitchell County Eagles in 2026

Hess said he is ready to put the Eagles program back on the map.

“My goal is to create a championship culture where we compete at a high level every year while earning the respect of our school and our community,” Hess said. “I want to build a program centered around discipline, accountability, and hard work. Ultimately, I want Mitchell County football to be known for producing quality young men, strong academics, and a team that plays with great effort, toughness, and pride every Friday night.”

2026 Season Prediction

Hess will lift the Eagles to an 8-4 record with a playoff win or two.
