The 2022 Miami Central defense is headlined by one of the top defensive linemen in the state in rising senior Rueben Bain, who enjoyed a massive 2021 season when he collected 29.5 sacks. Shawn Smoak is another name who could play a key role for the Rockets in 2022, as is transfer addition Mark-Allen Gay Jr.
Offensively, the quarterback duo of Keyone Jenkins and Dylan Tulloch returns to lead the 2022 Miami Central offense, while two of the Rockets’ top rushers from last season, Ean Pope and Jonathan Harris, also return. Nathaniel Henry is another name to watch for. Rising senior Lamar Seymore is the biggest name returning at receiver, while Corey Washington and Cataurus Hicks are also names to know.
What to Expect
The defending Class 5A state champions, Miami Central enters the 2022 season as not only one of the top overall teams in the state, but also arguably the top team in a deep 2M-Region 4. Expect Miami Central to be one of the state’s top teams and contend for a state championship again in 2022.
