The FHSAA football state playoffs have now officially begun with Round 1 taking place state-wide this past week. Here are some of the state’s top performances from this past Friday night, a list headlined by Master’s Academy quarterback Jackson Stecher.
Jackson Stecher, Quarterback – Master’s Academy Eagles
Stecher completed 13-of-14 passes for 217 yards and four touchdowns in the Eagles’ 49-42 win over NSU University. The freshman also rushed for a season-high 124 yards and two touchdowns on seven attempts.
Jeffery Jones, Quarterback – St. Petersburg Green Devils
Jeffery Jones rushed for a season-high 302 yards and five touchdowns on 18 attempts and completed 2-of-6 passes for 62 yards in the Green Devils’ 35-0 win over Dunbar.
Javian Jones, Athlete – King’s Academy Lions
Javian Jones had a season-high 11 receptions for 222 yards and three touchdowns in the Lions’ 28-26 win over Calvary Christian Academy. The senior also had three tackles defensively.
EJ Archield, Quarterback – Gaither Cowboys
EJ Archield completed 15-of-21 passes for 323 yards and three touchdowns in Gaither’s 42-0 win over Springstead. The senior also rushed for a 1-yard touchdown on one attempt.
Brady Hart, Quarterback – Cocoa Tigers
Brady Hart completed 9-of-11 passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns in Cocoa’s 63-0 win over Lake Placid.
Ronnell Dubose, Running Back – Jefferson Dragons
Ronnell Dubose rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns on 28 attempts and caught a pass for 21 yards in Jefferson’s 21-16 win over Hudson.
Landin Williams, Running Back – Bell Bulldogs
Landin Williams rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns on 25 attempts in Bell’s 21-14 loss to Space Coast. The sophomore also had one reception for 11 yards.
Shawn Simeon, Running Back – Naples Golden Eagles
Shawn Simeon rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 11 attempts in Naples’ 44-0 win over River Ridge. The senior also returned a kickoff for 10 yards.
Levi Champion, Linebacker – King’s Academy Lions
Levi Champion had 18 tackles, five tackles for a loss, and two passes defended in King’s Academy’s 28-26 win over Calvary Christian Academy.
Brogan Woeber, Kicker – Jupiter Warriors
Brogan Woeber was a perfect 2-for-2 on field goal attempts and made all three of his extra points in Jupiter’s 27-0 win over Treasure Coast in the first round of the FHSAA football state playoffs.
