Lumpkin County Girls Tennis Clinches Region Title

The Lumpkin County girls tennis team is back to its winning ways. It clinched the Region 7-3A title by defeating Cherokee Bluff. This is the Indians first region title since a 2016 campaign in which they were shutout 5-0 by Blessed Trinity in the quarterfinals. Several other regions have not completed the region tournaments yet, so Lumpkin’s future opponents for the 2021 state tournament have not been decided. Regardless, the Indians will have a great shot at winning their first round matchup and may even return to that elusive quarterfinals round.
