ITG Next’s November 2025 Georgia Male Athlete of the Month is Lowndes High School defensive lineman Malik Reddick.
The senior has been in the Lowndes football program since he was a seventh-grader and has been a big part of the Vikings’ success, including this past season, which saw the Vikings finish 10-2, including a 4-1 region record, tied for first place.
Reddick is a 6-foot, 250-pound defensive lineman and edge rusher who has been at the point of attack for the Lowndes defense, but he can play multiple positions up front for the Vikings.
In his high school career with the Lowndes football program, Reddick has played in 27 games over the past three seasons. Over that span he recorded 96 tackles, which includes 25 tackles for loss. He also recorded nine sacks in his career, along with 25 quarterback hurries, also referred to as quarterback pressures.
Reddick saved his best season statistically for his senior year. He recorded 51 tackles this season, which is his highest season total of the three years he has played with the varsity squad. This season was also his best for sacks, as he had seven sacks in the 12 games he played in this year. He had 18 of his 25 career total quarterback hurries this season too.
Reddick caused a fumble last season in 2024, and this year he had a fumble recovery and was credited with a pass breakup.
One of the highlights of this 2025 season came in what is considered Lowndes’ biggest game of the regular season, the annual matchup with crosstown rival Valdosta known as the Winnersville Classic. In the game versus the Wildcats, Reddick had his second-best single-game total of tackles with six. He also had six tackles against Colquitt County earlier this season.
Lowndes High School head football coach Adam Carter heaped tons of praise on his standout defensive lineman and edge rusher.
“Malik Reddick is a huge asset to Lowndes football, bringing a relentless high motor to everything he does on the field,” Carter said. “He plays with physicality and toughness, never shying away from contact and always finding ways to elevate the team. His unselfish mindset shows in how he’s willing to do whatever is needed – no complaints, just hard work. On top of that, Malik is incredibly coachable, taking feedback and turning it into immediate improvement. He makes our program better every single day.”
Reddick said “it feels good” to be ITG Next’s Georgia Male Athlete of the Month.
“I feel that I wouldn’t be in this situation without my teammates being there to push me in times that I needed it,” Reddick said.
When asked what he loves about being a part of Lowndes football, Reddick said, “I love the entire program as a whole, from the coaches to my teammates, and just the nice atmosphere I got to play in for these past couple of years.”
Reddick will be participating in the Georgia Elite Classic All-Star Game in late December. The game is a showcase for the state’s top high school seniors.
Congratulations to Lowndes High School senior Malik Reddick, ITG Next’s November 2025 Georgia Male Athlete of the Month.
