Lee County Trojans 2025 Football Preview

We tell you everything you need to know about the 2025 Lee County High School football team in this preview, including roster changes and what fans can expect from the Trojans this season.

2024 Season Stats

  • Overall Record:13-1
  • Points Scored: 745
  • Points Allowed: 272

Key Roster Losses

Lee County enters the 2025 season without one of the state’s top running backs in Ousmane Kromah. The four-year starter was a major part of Lee County’s offense in each of those past four years while also making his impact felt as a kick returner. Kromah finished his high school career with more than 8,000 yards total, 78 TDs rushing, and 20 TDs receiving. He’s now at Florida State University.

Last year’s starting quarterback, Weston Bryan, will be missed for his running and passing abilities. Bryan is now at Georgia Southern.

Bryan and Kromah were the team’s leading rushers and were the top two touchdown leaders with 57 combined.

On defense, standout defensive lineman Jeramiah McCloud, a four-star recruit, will be missed up front. Last year he had 71 tackles, including nine sacks. He is now with the Florida Gators.

Key Players Returning

Head coach Dean Fabrizio welcomes back a ton of talent in 2025, including junior receiver Jaden Upshaw, who ended last year with 842 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns as a sophomore.

Canton Williams is back to assume the primary rushing duties for Lee County this season. Even as the backup to Kromah in 2024, Williams rushed for 630 yards on 70 carries, an average of 9 yards per carry, last year. He also rushed for 11 touchdowns.

The defense returns a ton of talent, including highly recruited senior cornerback Lasiah Jackson and defensive back mates Trey Bush and Montravious Clay, who both started all 14 games last year as freshmen.

Each of the starting linebackers are back with juniors Greg Batson and Jace Murray joining senior Jayden Hudson this season.

Defensive lineman Martin Atkins is also back.

What to Expect From the Lee County trojans in 2025

Fabrizio is entering his 17th season at Lee County and said his team expects to be in the mix once again this year.

“We played one of our most challenging schedules last year and still finished 13-1 with our only loss to eventual state champion Milton, and this year we will be facing those same teams in the regular season,” Fabrizio said.

Although the Trojans lost some big-time talent, this is nothing new for Fabrizio. He’s had to replace major players before, so this is just another challenge heading into 2025.

The team may be more talented on defense than they were last year with all starting linebackers and the entire defensive backfield from a year ago returning this season.

The Trojans will open the season on the road at Warner Robins before returning home to take on Region 1-6A foes Tift County and Colquitt County. They must then open region play with back-to-back away games at Thomas County Central and Coffee.

2025 Season Prediction

Fabrizio always has his team ready to rise to the challenge, and they’ll do the same this year, finishing 12-2.
