Jae Lamar No Longer A Member of Colquitt County Football Team

Colquitt County head football coach Sean Calhoun confirmed to ITG Next the status of senior running back Jae Lamar.

“Unfortunately, he’s no longer with us,” Calhoun said of the four-star running back.

Calhoun did not elaborate when asked about the circumstances that led to Lamar’s absence from the Packers or if there remained an opportunity for him to return to the team.

“I’m just going to leave it with my one earlier comment that he’s no longer with us,” Calhoun said.

It is not known yet if Lamar not being able to finish his senior season will affect his commitment to the University of Georgia, which he announced earlier this summer.

Lamar’s last game as a member of the Packers was against Lowndes on Sept. 26. Colquitt County lost to Lowndes 31-14, with Lamar scoring both of Colquitt County’s touchdowns. However, the Vikings’ defense kept Lamar in check for the most part in the victory, limiting him to less than 50 yards rushing.

This past week the Packers hosted the Valdosta Wildcats. Despite not having Jae Lamar, Colquitt County won the game 18-17 to even up their region record at 1-1.
