Jabe Boroff Named Alabama Male Athlete of the Month

Macon-East Baseball Player Jabe Boroff Voted ITG Next Alabama Male Athlete of the Month

On a Macon-East baseball team that is one of the favorites in AISA Class 2A, you don’t have to look hard to see the impact junior Jabe Boroff has had on the Knights’ success so far this season. Boroff is one of the top hitters in Alabama and entered the week of April 11 with a phenomenal .588 batting average. He enjoyed a particularly outstanding month of March, which earned him ITG Next Alabama Male Athlete of the Month honors with 37.92% of the votes.

Appearing in 15 games last month, Boroff went 21-for-40 at the plate (.525) with 20 RBI. He collected at least two hits apiece in seven of those games, including the first four contests of the month against Lakeside, Calvary Christian, and Bethlehem Christian.

Boroff’s .588 average is among the state’s offensive leaders; additionally, he has posted a phenomenal .678 OBP, .882 SLG, and 1.560 OPS as of this week. Boroff’s role in the Knights’ success is undeniable, and the team will need him to continue his production as it approaches the AISA playoffs. The good news is he’s shown no indication of slowing down anytime soon, and he’s the kind of player whose talent alone could potentially decide a playoff game.

Congratulations to Macon-East’s Jabe Boroff, our ITG Next Alabama Male Athlete of the Month for March.
