ITG-SG Top 5’s of Week 2

Week 2 Top 5s
TOP 5 PLAYERS:
This week’s ITG Top 5 had several new names entering the picture, including Valwood standout QB Jacob Parker. Competing against the defending GISA AAA State Champions, Parker led the offense to 55 points in a remarkable individual and team effort, racking up 316 yards and 5 scores to his name.
Chase Parrish continues to shine as the leader of Colquitt’s seemingly unstoppable offensive attack, passing and running his way to over 250 yards and 4 total TDs.

J.D. King, for the second week in a row, amassed over 200 yards rushing, adding another 2 TDs to what is shaping up to be an incredible year alongside his QB, James Graham.

Demarious Milton made it clear that Garrett Morrell isn’t the only threat on the Lee offense, earning 82 yards and 4 TDs on just 9 carries.

D.J. Pollard rushed for 3 TDs on Irwins way to a decisive victory over Berrien. This week’s Fitzgerald vs Irwin matchup could prove to be a battle in the trenches to see who can establish their run game the best.

TOP 5 TEAMS:

This week’s Top 5 Teams remained unchanged from last week. Colquitt County once again proved themselves and asserted their dominance over the #4 team in Florida’s highest classification, Plant, assuring their spot atop our list. No one seems to have an answer for the complexity and explosiveness of their offense, nor can teams poke holes in their stringent defense.

Behind them, Lee continues to dominate admittedly lesser opponents, which makes us even more excited to see them play higher caliber teams as they enter into region play in the near future.

Clinch had an impressive win over a strong Brooks County team, with their defense holding an explosive Brooks offense to only 20 points.

Fitzgerald’s rushing attack continues to be the difference, boasting 510 rushing yards for the game, but they will be tested this week against Irwin.

Lastly, Valwood made a statement with this past week’s win, taking down 2-time defending GISA AAA State Champions Westfield. They successfully turned a tight game into a blowout with second half forced turnovers and a seemingly unstoppable offensive scheme. They travel to Tallahassee to play North Florida Christian this week, and if they were to win that one, then Valwood could be eyeing yet another run towards an undefeated season and state championship.
