Glades Day Soccer Player Hana Lohmann Voted ITG Next Florida Female Athlete of the Month
When taking a look back at the 2021-22 Florida High School Soccer season, there were few players across the state more impactful for their team throughout the year than Glades Day’s Hana Lohmann.
A standout on the soccer field for the Gators, Lohmann has been an impactful part of the Gators soccer program for years now, even scoring 37 goals as a freshman during the 2019-20 season.
With expectations high entering her junior season, Lohmann would certainly deliver, finishing the season with a phenomenal 48 goals, 31 assists, and 127 points, which translates to an eye-popping 2.5 goals per match. In addition to those numbers, Lohmann also posted a few noteworthy performances such as a seven-goal outing against Berean Christian back in mid-January, as well as nine games where the junior scored three-or-more goals.
Looking at Lohmann’s month of February in particular however, the junior certainly made a big impact for the Gators, even despite only playing three games.
Beginning the month back on Feb. 2, Lohmann would score both of the Gators’ goals in Glades Day’s 2-0 win over Lake Worth Christian to claim the district championship, her 43rd and 44th goals for the season. Advancing to the regional quarterfinals, Lohmann would also play a key role in the Gators dominant 7-0 win over Archimedean, scoring four more goals in the contest.
While the Gators would eventually go to fall in the regional semifinals, ending their season, it was still a special one for Lohmann and Glades Day girls soccer, one that was continued with some impactful performances in February.
Looking ahead to next season as well, there is no doubt that Lohmann is set for a special senior season, likely among the state of Florida’s leading goal scorers once again. Congrats to Glades Day’s Hana Lohmann, our February ITG Next Florida Female Athlete of the Month.
