The top 3 remain, while Buford continues to dominate and stay undefeated. East Cowetta falls out of the rankings after losing to previously unranked Parkview. North Cobb stays in the top 25 as the only team on the list to be knocked out of the playoffs. Three new teams enter the top 25, Calhoun being the lone contender who enters for the first time this year.

There’s a slight shakeup at the top. Cedar Grove played a good team in Rockmart, but didn’t separate themselves as a top-2 team. John Milledge is one game away from winning the GISA championship. Rockmart and Athens Academy are the only top-25 teams still in the rankings that have fallen out of the playoffs. Four new teams enter the mix, two of them for the first time this year as Jefferson County and Trinity Christian make their appearance.

The first round of playoffs sets in, and previously ranked No. 16 Newnan is the lone team to fall out the top 25 after losing to No. 3 seed Harrison. Langston Hughes in 6A, who improves to 10-1, makes a strong first-round appearance against Northside (Warner Robins), beating them 27-0. They enter the top 25 barely passing Archer. Several teams are being placed on upset alert watch this weekend, including Lowndes as they travel to North Cobb, Allatoona, as Dacula takes the drive to them, and Coffee County as they make the trip to Starr’s Mill.
