Venus Williams is setting records as she reaches the quarterfinals at Wimbledon.
Williams’ experience and focus has clearly led her to where she is today. If William’s wins her next two matches this will be her sixth Wimbledon title. At 37 years old, the tennis player is the oldest player at this year’s competition and the oldest player to advance to the quarterfinals since Martina Navratilova in 1994. Her experience seems to help her prepare for each match. She told USA Today: “When I come to these tournaments, my focus is just me… all I can control, is my performance. That is my focus at the moment.” This definitely appears to help her since this will be Williams’ 13th time reaching at least the quarterfinal round at Wimbledon. We wish Williams the best of luck on her 100th career match at Wimbledon today.
