FHSAA Class 2A Elite 8 Preseason Predictions

We make our predictions for who will make it to the Elite Eight in FHSAA Class 2A.

In the Region 3 final, a likely Northside Christian versus Cambridge Christian matchup would be an interesting one for a few reasons.

One, both teams return their starting quarterbacks from last season.

The two signal callers, sophomore Scott Lynch (Northside Christian) and sophomore Chris Stephenson (Cambridge Christian), both threw for over 2,000 yards in 2020. So, this quarterback matchup alone would be a fun one to watch.

Second, both squads will return quite a bit of talent in the backfield as well.

Zuri Watson led the Mustangs in rushing last year with 843 yards and was one of two players who finished with a team-high six rushing touchdowns, according to MaxPreps. This was all as a freshman.

The Lancers will also return some firepower at the running back position. Junior Jaiden Bivens finished with a team-high 595 yards on the ground and 11 touchdowns. Right behind him was sophomore Kaden Brown, who racked up 481 yards and eight touchdowns.

We’ll keep our fingers crossed that we will see this matchup happen come playoff time in November.
