Player Profile: Kade Jackson, Columbia High School

Being a dual-sport, starting athlete on top of managing schoolwork is tough for anyone. Columbia’s Kade Jackson knows this well, as the soon-to-be senior plays both football and baseball for the Tigers. Jackson has been on the varsity football team since his freshman year and will be entering his second season as a starting quarterback this fall. As for baseball, Jackson has been on varsity since sophomore year and has played both second base and outfield. When it comes to juggling all of his responsibilities, Jackson said it can be difficult, but you have to be willing to put in the extra time here and there.

“It’s hard to stay on top of schoolwork while playing two sports,” he said. “I usually try to get all my work done during school hours. Like, if I have spare time in a class, I will try and do my homework then.”
