Family is a term that we hear thrown around the sports world almost every day. Every team wants to have a family atmosphere between the players and coaches. Family is supposed to bring out the best in everyone.
The Turner County basketball team embodies everything family means for a team. The father of this team is head coach Shedrick Office. Office believes in a “we, not me” mentality that he preaches to his team, and we are seeing the fruits of his labor.
In this family atmosphere, Office touts his players’ abilities to police themselves. Also, the close bond the players formed over the years allows them to be best friends on and off the court.
As Office has proven, to be a great team, you not only have to talk the talk, but you have to walk the walk as well.
