Elbert County Guard AJ Brown Among Top 10 Performers Recently in 2026 Georgia High School Boys Basketball Season

Here are our top 10 performers from recent action in the 2026 Georgia high school boys basketball season.

Elbert County guard Anthony “AJ” Brown, a senior, had a big week including a 21-point performance in Elbert County’s 58-55 win over Athens Academy. Brown also added five rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and one steal. Then against Lincoln County, Brown scored 23 points, pulled down nine rebounds, three steals, one assist, and a blocked shot vs. Hart County.

Groves point guard Jamel Flaggs, a senior, scored 17 points, five assists, and four steals in double-overtime game against Windsor Forest. Against McIntosh County Academy, Flaggs led the team in scoring with 15 points to go along with four assists and three steals in Groves’ 45-35 win.

Washington County sophomore Kaden Collins scored 10 points while pulling down five rebounds and four assists in the Golden Hawks’ weekend matchup against the Baldwin Braves boys basketball team in Sandersville.

Cartersville guard and wing Wyatt Thomason, a senior, recently reached 1,000 career points while scoring 12 points to lead his Purple Hurricanes to a 57-42 win over Allatoona.

McIntosh County Academy forward Marquise Morning, a senior, scored 20 points and pulled down 15 rebounds for yet another double-double night. He also added four steals and two blocked shots in the Buccaneers’ win over Claxton High School.

Eagle’s Landing guard Gavin Adams, a senior, had a big night against Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy this past weekend by scoring 25 points and pulling down five rebounds in Eagle’s Landing’s 65-60 loss.

Kennesaw Mountain guard Justin Mallett, a senior, led the Mustangs to a 61-47 win over Villa Rica this past weekend with a 17-point performance, along with two assists, one block, three steals, and nine rebounds. It was Kennesaw Mountain’s fifth straight win for the boys basketball team.

Mary Persons guards Anderson Harris, a senior, and Dee Grier, a junior, each led the Bulldogs with 19 points apiece in Mary Persons’ 58-52 win over Whitewater last Friday night.

Fannin County center and power forward Keaton Watkins, a 6-foot-7 junior, helped the Rebels to two big region wins recently against Armuchee and against Union County. In the game against Armuchee, Watkins came away with six points, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one blocked shot. In the win over Union County, Watkins scored 11 points and had 16 rebounds. He also had three assists and three blocks.

Cross Creek point guard Derrick Shine, a junior, led the Razorbacks to a big 70-64 win over Westside this past weekend with a team-high 25-point performance. Shine also had two rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one blocked shot in the big region road victory.
