Key Roster Losses

The Colquitt County Packers will miss 13 players from last year who have signed college scholarships (schools listed in parentheses).

They are cornerback Ry’Sheed Fuller (Georgia State), running back Jae Lamar (UGA), defensive lineman Kaden Calhoun (Jones Community College), wide receiver Na’Ryan Sumlin (Clayton State), defensive lineman Kam Gay (Valdosta State), offensive lineman Jamaal Jackson (Reinhardt University), offensive lineman Sawyer McCard (Valdosta State), defensive back Ni’shawn Osby (Savannah State University), outside linebacker Zach Palmore (Clayton State), linebacker Brayden Ruis (LaGrange College), running back and wide receiver Ja’mari Stokes (LaGrange College), wide receiver Malik Walker (Savannah State), and tight end Alexis Barge (Savannah State).

Safety Alfonso McNeil will also be missed and has offers from Cumberland University and Warner Royals University.

Key Players Returning

Returning to the Pack this year will be senior defensive back Josh Alford, who has 107 tackles over the past two seasons along with three interceptions and a sack.

Senior linebacker McKenzie Graham is back, along with senior wide receiver Antwan Lockett, who is committed to Georgia Tech.

Two new players who have transferred in this offseason will add strength to the Packers’ offense. They are quarterback Khi Mitchell, who transferred from Mt. Zion High School, and tight end Tucker Saporita, who arrives to Colquitt County after transferring from Pike County.

Colquitt County head football coach Sean Calhoun confirmed that Mitchell will be the starting QB this season.

Senior defensive lineman Ty’Mhyr Moore is back, and he is committed to Georgia Southern following this final season at Colquitt County.

Others returning are tight end Ethan Ruffin, running back Jason Stephenson, and offensive lineman Kavon Thomas, who is committed to West Florida.

What to Expect From the Colquitt County Packers in 2026

Calhoun said that at the end of the day it’s pretty straightforward when it comes to his expectations year after year.

“We keep it simple: win the region championship and win the state championship,” Calhoun said.

Colquitt County is always going to be right in the mix under Sean Calhoun, and this season is no exception.

2026 Season Prediction

The Packers will compete for a region championship in the new-look Region 1-7A with a 9-4 overall finish and a trip to the quarterfinals.
