In Jesup, Arthur Williams Middle School eighth-grader Demetrius McBride knew that he had a shared passion for sports since the first time he strapped a pair of vinyl flags around his 4-year-old body. Not long after McBride took his first snap of organized flag football, he started to learn the calendar ended in seasons rather than months. McBride added basketball, baseball, and track to complete the year-round season.
“I’m 13, and I love sports with a passion,” McBride said. “I have been playing since the age of 4 when I started playing organized sports.”
