Bowdon QB Joshua Hopkins Among Top Performers in Week 12 of 2025 Georgia High School Football Season

Here are our top 10 performers from Week 12 of the 2025 Georgia high school football season.

Top Overall Performances

Appling County running back and linebacker Jaiden Knight led the Pirates to a 31-14 win over Pierce County on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he had 16 carries for 267 yards and three touchdowns while making five tackles plus an interception on defense.

Seminole County safety and running back Kari Henderson, a senior, had a 67-yard rushing touchdown and came up with 15 tackles on defense along with one pass breakup. He also had 100 combined kick return and punt return yards on special teams to lead the Indians to a 36-32 win over Mitchell County to secure the No. 2 seed in Region 1 in Class 1A-Division II.

Top Offensive Performances

Houston County wide receiver MJ Mathis had five catches for 131 yards with two TDs to lead the Bears to a big region win over Lee County.

Bowdon quarterback Joshua Hopkins completed 14-of-20 pass attempts for 252 yards and five touchdowns. He also rushed eight times for 160 yards and two touchdowns to give the senior a seven-touchdown night in the Red Devils’ regular season finale.

Top Defensive Performances

Lowndes linebacker Marcus Vaughn, a junior, had nine tackles, including two tackles for loss; a quarterback sack; and a quarterback pressure versus Valdosta in this year’s Winnersville Classic.

Peachtree Ridge defensive back Sojourn Parker, a senior, returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown and had an interception in the Lions’ win over Berkmar.

Top Special Teams Performances

Roswell kicker Balint Vorosmarty kicked a 48-yard field goal with 37 seconds left in the game to give his team a 41-39 win over Milton and secure the Region 7-5A title.  It was his second game-winning kick of the season. He also had a 30-yard field goal earlier in the game.

LaGrange kicker Cooper Metcalf was 4-for-4 on all field goal attempts last week versus Upson-Lee. He connected from 23, 25, 28, and 39 yards, respectively. He was a perfect 2-for-2 on extra point attempts, and his six kickoffs resulted in three touchbacks and three squib kicks to prevent returns.

Carrollton kick returner Rontre Welch had a 99-yard kick return for a TD late in the third quarter to open up the Trojans’ lead against Douglas County en route to their win over the Tigers.

Appling County kicker Alan Ramirez kicked a 46-yard field goal and was successful on all four extra point attempts to help lead the Pirates to a big region win over Pierce County, clinching the region championship for Appling County.
