The Benyard twins answered the call to action. After a 7-0 lead for Brooks County, Gabriel Benyard took over, scoring on two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown to give the Indians a 20-7 lead. Although brother Garland didn’t score any touchdowns, he helped pace Irwin in receiving yards with 89 on six catches. This was a fitting closure to both players’ high school careers, and they will surely be missed at Irwin County.
