Bay Tornadoes

New Head Coach Mike Watkins has his hands full coming in late this past spring and trying to get to know the players and the program. The Tornadoes made it to the state playoffs for the first time in 12 years and he hopes to see them make it 2 years in a row. Retaining Defensive Coordinator Sean Killets to maintain consistency, Coach Watkins hopes to establish Bay High School as a team to be reckoned with.

Putting in a new offensive system will be a challenge to have it operating like it needs to be to score points this fall. Quarterback Sam Clement and receivers Jayvion Wilson and Keyshawn Woodfaulk will have to help the offensive players get up to speed. As per Coach Watkins “we just have to take it day by day and hope to get better each day.”

Look for Inside Linebacker Demond Ross to head up the Tornadoes defenders with fellow returners Anthony Hayes DE, Jayvion Wilson SS, Joe Boehm ILB, and Keyshawn Woodfaulk FS. These players got a taste last season of what it is to win and want to feel that again.

Going into the fall the Tornadoes biggest challenge are themselves. They are working hard to be a little better with each workout.

Another hurdle Bay High will have to face is playing their home games at Dean Bozeman High Schools Stadium. Gavlak Stadium , their home field is undergoing renovations this year and will be unavailable.
