Baseball Season Incoming

Last year, player’s time on the mound was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But baseball is back and this time, the pandemic will not stop it.

We saw football and basketball navigate through it so there’s no shortage of hope with baseball making it happen.

Though it hurt everyone, you must thing that the teams that saw early success in the 2020 is looking to get it all back this year.

Mill Creek got off to a 14-1 record with a fully away schedule.

Wesleyan in 1A and Carrollton of 5A held undefeated records to start the season.

Private schools like Fellowship Christian, First Presbyterian, and Savannah Christian all held their own also.

There were so many more teams that got off to hot starts in the 2020 season.

Out of all seasons, that would be the year that the season would come to a halt, right?

But I know the teams that saw that early success before being robbed out of a season and seniors will use that as motivation for this coming season that will be heating up in a matter of days.

The entire state waits to see who will be able to translate last season’s wins to the new year.

There’s no shortage of talent in Georgia high school baseball.

Teams will be licking their chops to not only make up for last season’s cancellation along with playing for the 2021 seniors and the 2020 graduates whose senior seasons was taken from them.

It adds another motivational factor to it.

It is simply the get back.

Yes, it’s a new season but those teams that started off so well a year ago will be trying to duplicate and get back what they lost due to an unpredictable pandemic hitting in the middle of what could have been a championship season for them.

Baseball season is on the way.

It’s only a matter of days.

We will see who will come out swinging (figuratively and literally) in the 2021 and make that deep playoff or championship run.
