Bainbridge’s Pierce to BAMA

Pierce, a name that originates from English and Welsh origin, it is adapted from the name Peter. The name Peter is derived from the Greek word Petros meaning “rock,” a minuscule object that is tough, it has the endurance to stay stable in different conditions, very noticeable and cannot be broken by pure human hands. All these qualities explain Bainbridge’s Dameon Pierce in a nutshell. The rising junior has already made an impact on the field that is highly unusual for any player that young. The running back stands at about 5’11” and weighs about 210lbs and has a few more years to grow before all is said and done.

First and foremost, In the Game Sports Network would like to commend Pierce on his recent verbal commitment to the University of Alabama. Pierce’s physical stature depicts what a Crimson Tide running back should look like. He bounces off defenders like a loose boulder with an incredible stiff arm, similar to Tide running backs of the recent past. The running back seems to be a good fit for the downhill zone running scheme that offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin has implemented in his pro-style/hybrid offense.

Pierce is still a young high school back and is set to make great strides at the high school level and beyond. Currently, he is the No. 7 prospect in Georgia for the 2018 class according to 247sports.com. As a freshman and sophomore at Bainbridge, Pierce has rushed for 2970 yards and 40 touchdowns averaging 6.3 yards per carry. He also had 21 receptions for 199 yards. He was a vital asset last season when Bainbridge went 13-1, the lone loss came in the state semi-finals to Cartersville who is led by Trevor Lawrence, the No.1 prospect in the nation for the 2018 class, according to 247sports.com. Bainbridge has big things to look forward to with this young athlete and could be even better in upcoming years.

Pierce is a hard commit to the Crimson Tide and only time will tell what happens in the future. As for now, we wish him the best in his journey and hopes he continues to play as “solid as a rock”.
