Auburn (1-0) VS Opelika (0-1) Football: Who Will Win?
The Tigers and Bulldogs meet for their annual Week 2 rivalry football game on Friday night when Opelika hosts 2020 7A runner-up Auburn.
Auburn opened the Keith Etheredge era in a big way last Friday night with an impressive 45-0 home victory over Park Crossing. The Tigers display one of the top offensive lines in the state headlined by newcomers Eston Harris, Bradyn Joiner, and Drew Bobo, as well as talent up-and-down their roster including linebacker Powell Gordon and more.
Opelika, on the other hand, opened the 2021 campaign with a 30-21 loss last Friday night against Callaway (GA) due to a few late game-changing plays. The Bulldogs are led by versatile athlete Jarell Stinson, who accounted for two touchdowns last Friday night, as well as talent at multiple other positions.
Auburn has dominated this annual matchup in recent years, winning the last four meetings with Opelika’s last victory coming in 2016.
