Volleyball standout Anna Weese is ITG Next’s 2026 Brunswick High School Female Athlete of the Year, presented by Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery.
Weese, a senior, has played in over 300 varsity volleyball matches throughout her career at Brunswick.
“I have had the pleasure of coaching Anna Weese for the last four years throughout her high school career here at Brunswick,” Jasmine Hubbard, Brunswick head volleyball coach, said.
Hubbard described Weese as a utility player, one who can play every position on the floor, which is a valuable asset for a coach who needs to fill a specific role at any given time during a match.
“Over her career, Anna has played every position for us to fill a role needed for our team,” Hubbard said. “She has played in very valuable matches for us and has served as a middle, right side, and even a libero.”
Weese has a 94% serving percentage and has contributed to over 300 points through her serves, according to Hubbard. That is just part of her overall accomplishments over her four-year career.
“Throughout her career, Anna has blocked and assisted on over 100 blocks, 500 digs, on over 350 assists, and on 150 kills,” Hubbard said.
Weese has earned All-Region honorable mention for her performances over the past two seasons, as a junior and a senior.
She has also maintained a 4.0 GPA while taking rigorous courses, according to Hubbard.
“Anna has been a leader in many capacities where she not only talked a good game, but she also walked it,” Hubbard said. “She helped establish a standard for Brunswick High School volleyball that we will forever be grateful for.
“She has been a one-of-a-kind player and individual who will be dearly missed.”
