Just this past week at Pitbull Stadium on the campus of Florida International University, the 2024 Florida high school football season officially came to a close when seven champions were crowned across the state’s remaining classifications of 1A-7A. Here are our Top 10 performers from the 2024 Florida high school football state championships.
Byron Louis, Running Back – American Heritage Patriots
Byron Louis rushed for 223 yards and two touchdowns on 29 attempts in American Heritage’s 40-31 win over Jones. The senior also had one reception for 10 yards.
Tyler Chance, Quarterback – Chaminade-Madonna Lions
Tyler Chance completed 16-of-20 passes for 217 yards and three touchdowns in the Lions’ 42-7 win over Clearwater Central Catholic.
Gregory Thomas, Defensive End – Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders
Gregory Thomas compiled 10 tackles and two sacks in Clearwater Central Catholic’s 42-7 loss to Chaminade-Madonna.
Brady Hart, Quarterback – Cocoa Tigers
Brady Hart completed 21-of-30 passes for 260 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 64 yards and a score on 11 attempts in Cocoa’s 38-27 win over Gadsden County.
Malachi Toney, Athlete – American Heritage Patriots
Malachi Toney completed 15-of-17 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 15 yards and a score on six attempts in the Patriots’ 40-31 win over Jones.
Mark Hanniford, Wide Receiver – West Boca Raton Bulls
Mark Hanniford made the most of his two receptions in West Boca Raton’s 26-7 win against Osceola, going for 140 yards and two touchdowns.
Latrison Lane, Running Back – Cocoa Tigers
Latrison Lane rushed for 64 yards and three touchdowns on 14 attempts and hauled in a pass for 2 yards in Cocoa’s 38-27 win over Gadsden County.
Johnny Richardson, Linebacker – Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders
Johnny Richardson amassed a season-high 15 tackles with one tackles for loss in the Marauders’ 42-7 loss to Chaminade-Madonna.
Jayvan Boggs, Wide Receiver – Cocoa Tigers
Jayvan Boggs hauled in six receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown in Cocoa’s 38-27 win against Gadsden County.
Gavin Harvey, Kicker – American Heritage Patriots
Gavin Harvey was a perfect 3-for-3 on extra point attempts and made a 31-yard field goal in American Heritage’s 40-31 win over Jones.
