Area play has now officially arrived across Alabama high school basketball, which provides a chance to take a look at the state overall, and update our consensus Top 25 rankings. The first update since the debut rankings, here is a look at our latest Top 25.

Rising to the top of our Top 25 this week are the Pelham Panthers, who, as of Thursday, Jan. 8, are currently undefeated at 20-0 overall. The Panthers jump previous No. 1 Gadsden City, who fall a spot after suffering their first loss of the season.
A number of additional programs also jumped in this week’s update such as Huntsville and Albertville, while two others also entered the Top 25, headlined by Hazel Green at No. 22.
