Georgia Blount and Breanna Higgins are ITG Next’s 2026 Camden County High School Co-Female Athletes of the Year, presented by AgSouth Farm Credit.
Georgia Blount just completed her senior season as a member of the Camden County girls golf team. Each of the four years she was a member of the team, she was a GHSA All-State performer and a top-five state finalist.
As a freshman, she finished second in the state, falling short by just one shot. Her sophomore season, she once again came close, finishing second in the state again by just one shot. As a junior in 2025, she finished fourth in the state finals. This past season as a senior, she finished second in the state finals.
Her individual performance contributed to the success of her team, as the Camden County girls golf team qualified for the GHSA Class 6A state tournament three of the four years she was part of the team.
“I’ve been coaching the team for 25 years, and I can honestly say that Georgia is the best one we’ve had come through here, and I’m not saying that just because she’s my daughter,” said Brent Blount, Camden County girls golf head coach.
Georgia Blount is now headed to James Madison University in Virginia to continue her golf career on a full scholarship.
Higgins just finished her junior year at Camden County High School, where she has won two girls wrestling state championships and finished as a state runner-up her freshman year.
She began wrestling with the Camden County middle school team before competing with the boys team at Camden County, then joined the girls team in its inaugural season last year.
The past two years, as a sophomore and junior, she won state championships wrestling at 105 pounds.
The Camden County girls wrestling team, now in just its second year of existence, finished fifth as a team this past season.
Higgins is currently ranked in the top 15 nationally.
