Grant Moore Named ITG Next’s 2026 Brunswick High School Male Athlete of the Year

Grant Moore is ITG Next’s 2026 Brunswick High School Male Athlete of the Year, presented by Summit Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Surgery.

Moore, a senior, is a standout two-sport athlete at Brunswick who plays both baseball and football for the Pirates.

He has been the starting quarterback for Brunswick’s football program for the past three seasons, throwing for over 6,300 yards and 65 touchdowns.

This past season was a career high for Moore. He passed for 2,639 yards with 29 touchdowns while completing 68% of pass attempts. He also rushed for a career-high 332 yards with four touchdowns and was named the Region 1-5A Player of the Year for his outstanding play.

Byron Slack, who was recently hired as the Pirates’ new head football coach and did not have a chance to coach Moore directly, said Moore’s talent and impact are evident everywhere you look.

“He is a great kid,” Slack said. “His leadership skills and work ethic stand out on film. I hate that I missed the opportunity to coach him, but he is fun to watch.

“He is doing the same things on the baseball field, and the kids follow him. He leads by example.

“That is evident in his academic record and his athletics.”

Moore will continue playing football at the collegiate level after committing to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga earlier this year.

Moore has also been a member of the Brunswick varsity baseball team for all four years of his high school career and, along with his teammates, is enjoying a career-best season. The Pirates have advanced to the Class 5A semifinals, marking the deepest postseason run in program history. Moore is a middle infielder and right-handed pitcher.

Moore was chosen as the Brunswick News MVP earlier this year as one of the city and county’s top male athletes.

Moore also received a proclamation from the Glynn County Board of Commissioners earlier this year for his outstanding accomplishments on and off the field during his time as a two-sport athlete at Brunswick.
