2025 Georgia High School Football Game Predictions: Week 3

Phil Jones gives his score predictions for the top six games being played in Week 3 of the 2025 Georgia high school football season.

North Gwinnett vs. Colquitt County

The Colquitt County Packers head to Suwanee, Georgia, for their first road game of the year, riding a 2-0 record on the season after upending Monroe last week at home. The Pack opened the season with a thrilling 27-24 win at home against Benedictine.

The North Gwinnett Bulldogs are coming off an early bye week after falling to Douglas County in the season-opening Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic. After losing their top three scorers from a season ago, the Bulldogs’ offense is struggling a bit, but their defense is still one of the best units in Class 6A.

North Gwinnett came to Moultrie, Georgia, last year in Week 3 and held Colquitt County to just 3 points in a 14-3 victory. Can they do it again?

Phil’s Pick: Colquitt County 21, North Gwinnett 10

Rome vs. Carrollton

The Carrollton Trojans of head coach Joey King are off to a 2-0 start, but will be facing their toughest test of the year as they take their first road trip of the season to battle head coach John Reid’s Rome Wolves at Barron Stadium.

Carrollton won their first couple of contests in rather easy fashion, including a season-opening 48-21 victory over Woodward Academy followed by last week’s 41-7 win over Columbia.

Rome is hoping to find its first win of the year after falling in Week 1 against Creekside 48-28. The Wolves were off last week.

Phil’s Pick: Carrollton 35, Rome 28

Thomas County Central vs. Florida High

The Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets are looking strong as ever with two straight victories to open the season against Monroe in Week 1 and last week’s win at Cairo in a game that was delayed due to inclement weather.

Florida High out of Tallahassee could give Central its toughest test of the 2025 season. The Seminoles visit the Jackets’ Nest after winning their first two contests of the year as well.

This could be an offensive showdown, as each team can score points in bunches, which they have shown through their first couple of wins.

Thomas County Central won this game last year 63-28. More of the same this year?

Phil’s Pick: Thomas County Central 45, Florida High 28

Grayson vs. Thompson (Alabama)

For the second straight week, the Grayson Rams will be facing a defending state champion as they host the Warriors of Thompson High School from Alabaster, Alabama. The Warriors are the defending Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 7A state champions.

Last week, Grayson faced off against North Carolina defending state champion Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, winning in a hard-fought, scrappy game 24-19. Grayson opened the season with an impressive win over Collins Hill in Week 1 before the come-from-behind win over Rabun Gap-Nacoochee.

Thompson defeated the Carver (Montgomery) Wolverines last week 37-6 to start their season off with a win. They stand at 1-0.

Last season, Grayson won against Thompson 15-14 on a last-minute 2-point conversion after scoring a touchdown.

Phil’s Pick: Grayson 39, Thompson 21

Blessed Trinity vs. Prince Avenue Christian

The Blessed Trinity Titans are at home for the third straight week to start the season as they face the Wolverines of Prince Avenue Christian.

Last season, the two teams met in Week 3, and Blessed Trinity won 23-21 after scoring a fourth-quarter touchdown to take the lead.

Blessed Trinity has the state’s toughest schedule, according to ITG Next’s “10 Toughest Georgia High School Football Schedules in 2025,” and Prince Avenue Christian is just one of several championship-caliber opponents the Titans will face this season.

Both teams won their first two games of the season. Prince Avenue Christian had an impressive 40-17 season-opening win over Callaway followed by last week’s 43-22 win versus Westside (Macon). Blessed Trinity won over Tri-Cities and Holy Innocents’.

Which team will make it three wins in a row?

Phil’s Pick: Prince Avenue Christian 28, Blessed Trinity 27

Clarke Central vs. Jefferson

The Jefferson Dragons earned one of the more eye-opening, season-opening victories with a shutout win over the Marist War Eagles in Week 1. Max Brown had 16 tackles, including seven tackles for loss, to lead the defensive effort for Jefferson and added 36 yards rushing on offense to pace his team to the win.

Jefferson defeated Jackson County last week to go to 2-0 on the season.

The Dragons will try to make it three in a row as they travel over to Athens, Georgia, to battle the Clarke Central Gladiators, who are 1-1 on the season. Last week Clarke Central suffered a shutout loss at the hands of Oconee County after defeating crosstown rival Cedar Shoals 13-12 in Week 1.

Phil’s Pick: Jefferson 31, Clarke Central 13
