2025 Georgia High School Volleyball Rankings

Top 10 Georgia High School Volleyball Teams Across All Classifications

Updated 8/20/2025

All season long, ITG Next will be ranking the Top 10 Georgia high school volleyball teams in the state.

1. Pope (Class 5A)

The season is just underway, so it’s still early, but it’s hard to argue with having the Pope Greyhounds as our No. 1 high school volleyball team in Georgia.

Head coach Erica Miller’s team is not just the toast of Class 5A, but their success has also defined what an elite volleyball program should look like. There’s no reason to think Pope won’t be competing for yet another state title in 2025.

2. Alpharetta (Class 6A)

If there’s a team looking to claim the crown for itself as the state’s best, it may just be Alpharetta.

The Raiders ran the table on their way to a state title last season, winning all 36 matches. Although they lost several of the key members of that team, they’re not going to suddenly cease their championship pedigree.

3. Cartersville (Class 4A)

Cartersville is off to a dominating start, knocking off both the defending state champs Pope and Alpharetta. They will have a chance to strengthen their quest as a championship-tier program as they take part in the Showdown at the Sunsphere invitational in Knoxville, Tennessee, in late August, a tournament showcasing the best volleyball talent in the Southeast.

4. Jefferson (Class 3A)

The Jefferson Dragons are off to a good start so far at 8-4 overall as they look to defend their 2024 state championship.

5. North Forsyth (Class 6A)

North Forsyth seems to be a favorite to claim the Class 6A state title this year after a strong run to the quarterfinals in 2024. The Raiders return just about every player from last year’s roster, so we’ll keep an eye on them this season.

6. Grayson (Class 6A)

Grayson knocked off Archer to win Region 4-6A in 2024, and the Rams will try to use that as a springboard to bigger and better things, like a deeper run in the state playoffs this year.

7. North Cobb (Class 6A)

North Cobb advanced to the state title match in 2024 for the second straight season, but could not overcome eventual champion Alpharetta after winning it all a year earlier in 2023. The Warriors are ready to bookend that 2023 title with a 2025 championship.

8. Blessed Trinity (Class 4A)

Blessed Trinity enjoyed a Final Four finish last year, winning 29 matches, and are off to a red-hot start in 2025 with a 7-1 record at the time of writing.

Other than losing outside hitter Ansley Smith to graduation, the Titans bring back just about every other statistical leader from last season.

9. Walton (Class 6A)

Walton is off to an undefeated 3-0 start at the time of writing, but it’s the program’s history that demands respect for the future of 2025.

The Raiders welcome back Walton volleyball alumnae Ashley Jones as their head coach. She led Marietta’s volleyball program before deciding to return to Walton.

10. Buford (Class 6A)

Buford is another volleyball team off to a strong start this season. At the time of writing, the Wolves are undefeated through their first five matches, including a straight set win over North Cobb, a Class 7A state finalist last year.

With several returning contributors from last year’s 24-9 roster, look for the Wolves to remain in the hunt in Class 6A this season.
