Despite the 2024-25 high school basketball season having just concluded across the country, it’s not too early to start looking ahead to 2025-26, is it? Well, that is exactly what we are doing as we list our way-too-early Top 10 high school basketball teams for the 2025-26 season.
Included in this list are some of the nation’s best teams from the 2024-25 season, along with a few teams that had solid seasons but could take an even bigger step ahead in 2025-26 due to some of high school basketball’s biggest names set to return.

9. Grayson Rams (GA)
2024-25 Record: 28-3 overall, GHSA Class 6A state semifinals
Georgia’s Grayson Rams ended the 2024-25 season with an appearance in the GHSA Class 6A state semifinals, where they fell to eventual state champion Wheeler, ending an overall strong season at 28-3 overall.

8. St. John Bosco Braves (CA)
2024-25 Record: 26-7 overall, CIF Open Division Round 1
St. John Bosco had a solid 2024-25 season in the state of California, finishing the season with a 26-7 overall record that resulted in a Round 1 loss in the CIF Open Division state playoffs.
The Braves could now be set for an even better 2025-26 season, as St. John Bosco is currently set to return two of the nation’s premier players in the five-star duo of Brandon McCoy and Christian Collins, who averaged 16.5 and 13.6 points per game, respectively, this past season.
7. Wasatch Academy Tigers (UT)
2024-25 Record: 25-5 overall

4. Montverde Academy Eagles (FL)

Florida’s Montverde Academy was among the nation’s top teams this past season at 19-8 overall.

3. IMG Academy Ascenders (FL)
2024-25 Record: 21-7 overall
The IMG Academy Ascenders were yet again among Florida’s top high school basketball teams this past season, ending the year with a 21-7 overall record playing against a challenging national schedule.

Playing against a national schedule, New Hampshire’s Brewster Academy ended this past season at 28-5 overall with each of their losses coming by 6 points or fewer.

1. Columbus Explorers (FL)
2024-25 Record: 30-3 overall, FHSAA Class 7A state champions, Chipotle national champions

Columbus will return one of the nation’s top players in five-star recruit Caleb Gaskins, as well as other notable names such as Jaxon Richardson and Keeper Jackson from a team that went 30-3 to win a national title.
