As spring begins to arrive, so does yet another high school baseball season, and with it our national 2025 preseason Top 10 rankings

We are once again set for what will be a memorable season across the country, with many of the nation’s top teams from a year ago set to be just as good, if not better, this year. Many of these teams come from the Southeast and will likely be familiar to fans based in Florida or Georgia.

Here are our preseason high school baseball national Top 10 rankings entering the 2025 season.

10. Brother Rice Warriors (MI)

2024 Record: 43-2 overall, MHSAA Division 1 state runner-up

We begin with Michigan’s Brother Rice High School. The Warriors finished last season at 43-2 overall, falling just short of winning it all in MHSAA Division 1. 

The Warriors are expected to have one of the nation’s top pitching staffs this year, headlined by the duo of Blake Ilitch and Cole Duhaime. 

9. Archbishop Moeller Fighting Crusaders (OH)

2024 Record: 29-3 overall, OHSAA Division 1 state regional finalists

Ohio’s Archbishop Moeller High School went 29-3 overall a year ago prior to being upset in the OHSAA Division 1 regional finals. 

The Fighting Crusaders return a large chunk of that team, which includes prominent names such as Zion Theophilus, Matt Ponatoski, and Conner Cuozzo.

8. Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors (FL)

2024 Record: 24-7 overall, FHSAA Class 3A state semifinalist

The first of three Florida programs included in our 2025 national high school baseball preseason rankings, Trinity Christian Academy out of Jacksonville finished at 24-7 overall a year ago to make the FHSAA Class 3A state semifinals. 

Trinity Christian will return a significant amount of production from that same team, headlined by the likes of Jordan Martinez, Brady Harris, and Ethan Wheeler, which has the Conquerors as a state title favorite entering the 2025 season.

7. Huntington Beach Oilers (CA)

2024 Record: 24-10 overall, CIF SoCal Division 1 regional semifinalists

Huntington Beach High School out of California ended last season with a 24-10 overall record that saw the Oilers reach the CIF SoCal Division 1 regional semifinals. 

The Oilers will return a big amount of production from that team, including names such as Ethan Porter, Trevor Goldenetz, and Trent Grindlinger.

6. Etowah Eagles (GA)

2024 Record: 34-5 overall, GHSA Class 6A state champions

Georgia’s Etowah High School had a phenomenal 2024 season with the Eagles going 34-5 overall to win the GHSA Class 6A state title. 

Returning for the Eagles to make another run at a state title are the likes of Jackson Rose, Cameron Boulanger, and Deion Cole.

5. Tomball Cougars (TX)

2024 Record: 41-3 overall, UIL 6A state champions

The Tomball Cougars out of Texas were one of high school baseball’s top programs a year ago, ending the season at 41-3 overall with a UIL 6A state championship. 

Tomball’s 2025 team features one of the nation’s premier pitchers in CJ Sampson, along with a few other notable returning players.

4. Stoneman Douglas Eagles (FL)

2024 Record: 26-5 overall, FHSAA Class 7A state champions

The first of two Florida teams within the Top 5 is Stoneman Douglas High School. The Eagles are coming off a 2024 season in which they won the FHSAA Class 7A state title with a 26-5 overall record. 

The Eagles’ 2025 roster will be headlined by one of Florida’s top pitchers in Gio Rojas, Nick Diaz, and Luke Cherry.

3. Catholic Bears (LA)

2024 Record: 38-2 overall, LHSAA Division 1 (Select) state champions

Louisiana’s Catholic High School ended last season at 38-2 overall to win the LHSAA Division 1 (Select) state title, but will have to replace one of the nation’s top pitchers in William Schmidt. 

The Bears will, however, return the likes of Jack Ruckert, Andrew Clapinski, and Noah Lewis, among others, for the 2025 season.

2. IMG Academy Ascenders (FL)

2024 Record: 19-6 overall

Florida’s IMG Academy went 19-6 overall in 2024 against a challenging schedule that included teams from across the Southeast. 

The Ascenders will have a loaded roster yet again in 2025 that features the returning Sean Gamble, Dean Moss, Josh Campbell, and Oki Hosokawa.

1. Corona Panthers (CA)

2024 Record: 30-3 overall, CIF Southern Section Division 1 champions

California’s Corona High School is coming off a 2024 season in which they finished 30-3 overall and won the CIF Southern Section Division 1 championship. 

The Panthers are the preseason pick to win back-to-back championships in California. The 2025 roster returns notable players such as Anthony Murphy, Seth Hernandez, and Billy Carlson.
