Calvary Christian Academy Outside Hitter Bradee Boyd Named ITG Next Florida Female Athlete of the Month for September 2024
Bradee Boyd, a volleyball player at Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale, has been voted the ITG Next Florida Female Athlete of the Month for September 2024. The honor is a result of Boyd’s on-court play in August, with the sophomore receiving 83.72% of the possible votes over three additional finalists.
Those finalists, which span across two different sports, were Fort Walton Beach cross country runner Belicia O’Grady, Wellington cross country runner Cameron Shelby, and Marco Island Academy volleyball player Medney Garraux.
As for Boyd, the outside hitter has certainly made her mark across the early parts of the 2024 Florida high school volleyball season, even as a sophomore. At the time of writing, Boyd ranks among the state’s leaders in kills and has helped lead the Eagles to a 9-5 overall record.
Across 45 sets so far this season, Boyd has amassed a combined stat line of 262 kills, 20 aces, 11 blocks, 127 digs, 11 assists, and 190 returns. Ranking among the state’s leaders already in a few particular statistics, Boyd is also averaging a 38.1% kill percentage, 5.8 kills per set, and other notable numbers.
While her season has certainly been impressive overall, Boyd was particularly impressive in August when she helped lead the Eagles to a 3-1 start to the year in a limited sample size. In those games, Calvary Christian defeated Benjamin, American Heritage, and FAU High, while the loss came against Pine Crest in five sets.
In all, Boyd posted a stat line of 106 kills, 10 aces, one block, 47 digs, four assists, and 40 returns in August. Boyd has had two games of 30 or more kills so far this season, both of which came in August against American Heritage and Pine Crest, the former of which was a season high of 38 kills.
Congratulations once again to Calvary Christian Academy volleyball player Bradee Boyd, the ITG Next Florida Female Athlete of the Month for September 2024.
