2024 Georgia High School Football Game Predictions: Week 6

Phil Jones gives his score predictions for the top six games being played in Week 6 of the 2024 Georgia high school football season.

North Gwinnett vs. Parkview

This week ITG Next travels back to metro-Atlanta to bring you the North Gwinnett versus Parkview live stream. It’s head coach Eric Godfree’s former team, Parkview, trying to slow down his current team, North Gwinnett. North Gwinnett is 4-0, while Parkview is trying to win their second game in a row after starting the season 0-3.

Godfree was Parkview’s head coach for nine seasons before leaving to take over at North Gwinnett last season.

Joe Sturdivant took over as Parkview’s head coach last season and is a former Panthers standout player. He was the head coach at Providence Christian in Lilburn before being selected to replace Godfree.

Parkview won this game 35-32 last season. Can they do it again?

Phil’s Pick: North Gwinnett 38, Parkview 20

Colquitt County vs. Rickards (Florida)

This is a battle of Georgia versus Florida as the Colquitt County Packers host the Rickards Raiders at Mack Tharpe Stadium.

Rickards will only have to travel about 60 miles up Highway 319 to do battle with the Pack, who will be looking to avoid their third straight loss at home after falling to North Gwinnett and Lee County.

Richards will be looking for their fourth win of the season.

Phil’s Pick: Colquitt County 31, Rickards 7

Richmond Hill vs. Buchholz (Florida)

Another great interstate battle between Georgia and Florida programs features a couple of undefeated teams as the 4-0 Richmond Hill Wildcats host the 4-0 Buchholz Bobcats from Gainesville, Florida. This is the first ever meeting between these two schools.

Head coach Matt LeZotte’s Richmond Hill team is trying to prove that they are a legitimate contender in the highly competitive GHSA Region 1-6A.

While this matchup is not against a region opponent, Buchholz is most certainly a top team in the Sunshine State. They were 13-1 last season, advancing to the FHSAA Class 3S semifinals before falling to eventual state champion Lakeland by 1 point

This would be a defining win for Richmond Hill. Can they do it?

Phil’s Pick: Richmond Hill 28 Buchholz 24

Thomasville vs. Bacon County

The Bacon County Red Raiders are on a comeback mission and hoping to take another huge step in that process as they look to win their first region game in four years this week. The last time Bacon County won a region game was Nov. 6, 2020, when they beat East Laurens 35-14.

At 3-1 overall, Bacon County is off to its best start since that 2020 season. Thomasville is also 3-1 on the season.

This match is the region opener for both teams, and a Bacon County win could be the best thing to happen to the Red Raiders in years.

Can this Bacon County squad cure what’s been ailing the program?

Phil’s Pick: Thomasville 40, Bacon County 12

Walton vs. North Cobb

The North Cobb Warriors are off to a great start at 5-0 overall and 1-0 in region play after defeating North Paulding last week.

The Walton Raiders are also 1-0 in region play and 3-2 overall after snapping their two-game  losing streak last week by defeating Wheeler. Walton is the defending region champ and played for the Class 7A state title a year ago.

Walton won this game against North Cobb year ago to hand head coach Shane Queen’s Warriors their only region loss on the season.

But this season has been a rebuilding year for Walton, while this looks like it could be another solid season for North Cobb.

Phil’s Pick: North Cobb 38, Walton 21

Appling County vs. Suwannee (Florida)

Another Georgia versus Florida matchup makes our Pick 6 as the Suwannee Bulldogs from Live Oak, Florida, travel up to Baxley, Georgia, to face the Appling County Pirates.

Both teams are coming off tough losses last week. Head coach Kyler Hall’s Suwannee team dropped a tough one to Godby (Florida) 29-26, and head coach Jordan Mullis’s Appling County team lost to DeLand (Florida) 38-7.

Phil’s Pick: Appling County 35, Suwannee 14
