Preseason – Updated 8/12/2024

The 2024 Georgia high school football season is finally here, and you will notice that ITG Next’s weekly rankings have a new look. This year we will rank the Top 10 teams in each classification with a total of eight rankings. This includes a separate Top 10 ranking of the “private only” teams in Class 1A-DI, Class 2A, and Class 3A. Here is a look at our updated 2024 Georgia high school football preseason rankings for Class 6A in the new format.

Yes, Buford and Colquitt County lost some big-time talent to graduation, including each of their starting quarterbacks from last season. But they are solid programs with excellent coaches. Don’t expect them to simply disappear.

Carrollton has the most talked-about player in the state in quarterback Julian “JuJu” Lewis, who will try to rally the Trojans to a state title before he heads west to lead the Trojans of Southern California.

Look for Collins Hill head coach Drew Swick to have his Eagles once again among the best in the state’s highest classification.

  1. Buford
  2. Carrollton
  3. Grayson (+1)
  4. Douglas County (-1)
  5. Colquitt County
  6. Camden County
  7. Newton
  8. Collins Hill
  9. Mill Creek
  10. North Cobb
