South Florida Heavyweights Headline Florida High School Week 4 Predictions

The 2023 Florida high school football season rolls on, as we are in Week 4. As with every other week, here are our “Pick 6” matchups and predictions.

American Heritage vs. Chaminade-Madonna

We begin this week’s Florida high school Week 4 predictions with a Top-3 matchup from our Classes 1-2 and SSAA rankings. American Heritage (2-0) hosts Chaminade-Madonna (3-0) in this high-profile showdown featuring two of Florida’s top teams in all classifications. The Patriots and Lions engaged in an epic battle last season, with Chaminade-Madonna ultimately winning by a final score of 42-34. This season’s contest could be similarly dramatic.

Prediction: Chaminade-Madonna 35, American Heritage 27

Miami Columbus vs. Miami Palmetto

In yet another premier Week 4 matchup in South Florida, Columbus (3-0) and Palmetto (3-0) will collide Saturday afternoon in a showdown between two of Miami’s best. The Explorers have owned this head-to-head matchup recently, including 28-10 and 28-0 victories a year ago and four straight wins overall against the Panthers.

Prediction: Miami Columbus 24, Miami Palmetto 17

Edgewater vs. Jones

Class 3M-District 3’s Edgewater (3-0) will host Jones (1-2) on Friday night in one of Florida’s top Week 4 matchups. The head-to-head series between the Eagles and Fightin’ Tigers has been back-and-forth in recent years. Edgewater claimed a 14-13 regular-season win in 2022, then Jones came away victorious 42-13 in the regional finals.

Prediction: Edgewater 30, Jones 21

St. Thomas Aquinas vs. Western

Coming off a close 37-36 win over Cocoa last Friday night, St. Thomas Aquinas (2-1) will now go head-to-head with Western (1-1), which is off to a solid start to the season in its own right. The Raiders won last season’s meeting by a final score of 38-0, a year after a 31-21 St. Thomas Aquinas win.

Prediction: St. Thomas Aquinas 30, Western 14

Bolles vs. Trinity Christian

Two of the top teams in Jacksonville meet Friday night as 2M’s Bolles (0-3) hosts 1M’s Trinity Christian (2-1). The Bulldogs have won two of the last three matchups between the two dating to 2020, with Trinity Christian winning last season’s meeting at home, 27-14.

Prediction: Bolles 27, Trinity Christian 24

Osceola vs. Lakeland

We round out this week’s Florida high school Week 4 predictions with a high-profile Class 4S matchup featuring defending state champion Lakeland (1-2) at Osceola. The Kowboys are searching for their first win of the season after falling to 0-3 last week. The teams met twice a year ago; both games were among Lakeland’s closest outcomes on their way to a state title – a 25-22 win in the regular season and a 14-7 win in the state semifinals.

Prediction: Lakeland 27, Osceola 10
