From the final week of the 2022 Florida high school football regular season, here are a few of the state’s top performers.
Cedrick Bailey – Chaminade-Madonna
In a season full of impressive performances, Bailey had arguably his most memorable in the Lions’ 45-6 win over Treasure Coast, completing 22-of-30 passes for 303 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Carter Smith – Bishop Verot
Smith rivals Bailey at the top of our list of Florida high school top performers this week – he completed 11-of-14 passes for 269 yards and 6 touchdowns, and he also rushed for 64 yards on 7 attempts in Bishop Verot’s 48-14 win over Key West.
TJ Lane – Middleburg
Lane rushed for 321 yards and 4 touchdowns on 38 attempts in Middleburg’s 28-14 win over Fernandina Beach.
Michael Grant – Maclay
Grant completed 23-of-29 passes for 313 yards, 6 touchdowns, and an interception in the Marauders’ 50-43 win over Taylor County. Grant also rushed for 12 yards on 3 attempts.
Jayce Nixon – Gaither
Nixon completed 25-of-44 passes for 398 yards with 5 touchdowns in Gaither’s 54-43 loss to Newsome. Nixon also rushed for 18 yards on 3 attempts.
De’kwan Bradley – Poinciana
Bradley completed 26-of-30 passes for 374 yards and 3 touchdowns in Poinciana’s 49-14 win over Hardee, while also rushing for 55 yards and 2 more scores on 4 attempts.
Ennio Yapoor – Norland
Yapoor completed 11-of-14 passes for 234 yards and 4 touchdowns in Norland’s 42-12 win over Killian, while also rushing for 23 yards on 3 attempts.
Jace Grant – Aucilla Christian
Grant rushed for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns on 27 attempts, while also making 4 tackles on defense, in Aucilla Christian’s 44-7 win over Grace Christian Academy.
Keveun Mason – Lake Placid
Mason rushed for 249 yards and 3 touchdowns on 27 attempts in Lake Placid’s 40-8 win over Neumann. Mason also completed a pass for 5 yards and made a catch for 4 yards.
Sammy Miller – Gibbs
Miller rushed for 173 yards and 3 touchdowns on 17 attempts, and made 2 tackles in Gibbs’ 20-18 win over St. Petersburg.
Jeremiah Smith – Chaminade-Madonna
Smith was one of Bailey’s top receivers, recording a season-high 7 receptions for 112 yards and 3 touchdowns in Chaminade-Madonna’s victory.
Denairius Gray – Somerset Academy-Canyons
Gray had 10 receptions for 109 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Cougars’ 43-12 win over Forest Hill, as well as 4 tackles and an interception on defense.
Samuel Haertle – Dunedin
Haertle had 21 total tackles and a QB hurry in Dunedin’s 27-6 loss to Palm Harbor University.
Elmmanual Brooks – Osceola-Seminole
Brooks had 18 tackles, 12 of which were solo, in Osceola’s 35-6 win over Hollins. Brooks also added 4 TFL and a fumble recovery.
Lamont Green – Gulliver Prep
Our final regular-season roll call of Florida high school top performers concludes with Green, who had 8 tackles, 3 TFL, and 2 sacks in Gulliver Prep’s 54-14 loss to Cardinal Newman.
