Florida High School Football Rankings: Week 4

As we enter Week 4 of the 2021 high school football season, one upset from last week shakes up the Top 10 of our Class 8A-5A rankings in a big way.

Jesuit is the biggest riser this week after a 24-21 home victory over St. Thomas Aquinas who falls from No. 2 to No. 6. After a 2-0 start to the season, the Tigers have positioned themselves as one of the top teams in Class 6A.

Other notable risers include Bloomingdale, Bartram Trail, and Suwanee each taking notable rises, as well as Edgewater one of the biggest fallers after a 41-7 loss to No. 8 Venice.

Games to watch that could potentially shake up next week’s Top 25 include No. 1 IMG Academy vs No. 7 Miami Northwestern, No. 4 American Heritage vs No. 6 St. Thomas Aquinas, No. 5 Jesuit vs No. 13 Bloomingdale, and No. 9 Jones vs No. 20 Edgewater.

The Florida Class 4A-1A Top 25 entering Week 4 saw a few notable changes, including a new No. 1 team sitting at the top.

As previous No. 1 Chaminade-Madonna suffered their first loss of the season last Friday night to American Heritage, the Lions fell to No. 2 with previous No. 2 Cardinal Gibbons claiming the top spot. While the top half of the Top 25 otherwise stayed the same, the bottom half was full of change, including five new teams debuting.

Looking ahead, the top part of the Top 25 next week could see some change with multiple teams facing tough matchups Friday night.
