Blessing in Disguise

Many may know that Brooks Koepka just won the US Open trophy a few weeks ago, but many may not know of how Koepka got to where he is today. The 27-year-old athlete never considered playing golf until he found himself in a bad car crash growing up. He told CNN Sport’s Patrick Snell, “I think it was a blessing in disguise.” After the accident, Koepka stopped playing baseball and began to learn the game of golf. With the help of his father, Dick Groat, Koepka was able to develop as a golfer. If Koepka had given up on athletics after the car accident his name wouldn’t be etched next to Jack Nicklaus’s or Tiger Wood’s on the US Open trophy and he certainly would not be where he is today. Brooks Koepka definitely embodies what it means to live in the game.
