4 Questions With Suwannee Football Head Coach Kyler Hall
We spoke with Suwannee football head coach Kyler Hall about his expectations for next season.
Q: You guys finished with an 8-3 record last season, ending with a tough 1-point loss in the playoffs. Do you feel like the 2020 season was the turning point for what you’ve been trying to build at Suwannee?
A: Last season was definitely a big step in the right direction for us. It was disappointing the way the season ended, but it also showed where we must improve. I believe it’s something we must use to our advantage and build off of the momentum and continue moving forward.
Q: What will you and your staff do this offseason to keep the team headed in the right direction?
A: We will continue to work at a high level and keep fighting to win a championship. It starts in the weight room by working to develop more mental and physical toughness. We have had a great offseason so far.
Q: What will the makeup of the Bulldogs be this year in terms of returning starters and contributors from last season’s squad?
A: We return seven starters on offense and seven starters on defense. We also return our kicker (Braxtyn Green) who is big time. The biggest replacements will be at QB, where Jaquez Moore had an incredible season, and replacing three starters on the offensive line.
Q: How will your schedule look this season compared to last year?
A: We are in a new district this year with Baker County, Ed White, Bishop Kenny, and Paxon. We are still in 5A Region 1. We picked up Dunnellon, Florida High, and Hawthorne, who were all Final Four teams this past season.
