4 Questions With Gulf Breeze Football Coach Bobby Clayton
We spoke with Gulf Breeze football coach Bobby Clayton on the Dolphins’ strong start to the season, a few impressive players, and more.
Q: This Dolphins team has had a strong season so far. What have you seen from this group overall that has translated to their success up to this point?
A: Our players have worked extremely hard during the offseason – in the weight room, spring practice, and over the summer at workouts. Hard work is what has taken us this far. Players believe in one another as well as do what their coaches ask. They are an extremely tight group, which is something we haven’t had in several years at GBHS.
Q: Junior running back Troy Coughlin has been a focal point of your offense so far this season. Have you seen any differences in him on the field from last season to now?
A: Troy, like all our players, worked very hard in the weight room and put on some lean muscle mass to help his performance on the field. Troy is also surrounded by other talented players that have helped him. Our offensive line is also better this year than in years past.
Q: Who are some players on defense that have impressed you this season?
A: Turner McLaughlin, Kohen Kimber, Shemane Walker, Jacob Thorn, Andrew Thorn.
Q: What should we expect from this Gulf Breeze team going forward?
A: A district championship and making a historic run through the playoffs.
